I'm guessing your looking for the "Mataika" whakapapa?
Te Hira Mataika married his first wife Heni Whare from Kaikohe and had a daughter named Ihapera (Isobella).... and Ihapera married Rini Koha.

Ae! It should be 'Hira'.... you should find this whanau around Panguru in the Hokianga rohe. The original name should be Mataika, not Hira but kei te pai. Te Hira Mataika is a son of Mataika.

.... of interest, if you google Ina Papatahi and find a painting of this tupuna, this is Te Hira Mataika's sister. Ina Papatahi was a subject for Goldie's paintings in the early 20th century.... and her proper name is Kararaina Mataika.

Tena koe,

Your grandfather Keremete is a son of Te Hira Mataika and his second wife Keti Tipene.
Keremete takes his surname from his father's first (Christian name) name as they did in those days.
Keti Tipene is the daughter of Tipene Kere (alias Tipene Keremete) and Maata Hau.
You can see where your grandfather's first name comes from.
