Kia ora Louise. My nephew wed one of them from Motakotako marae in Waikato. See the Old Friends site http://www.oldfriends.co.nz/institution.aspx?id=107360&page=2. We took her back there to be reunited with her whanau

By the way, I see that your dad made you and your 4 siblings joint owners of his bach at Aotea harbour, near Motakotako

Kia ora Rondo. Thank you so much for your help, I will search them soon, and yes my dad did but unfortunetly it was either pulled down, or blown down, but then I was told it was burnt down and their were people that saw it happen, it truly breaks my heart as I was not informed by the trustee's, myself and my siblings were also told that we did not own dads batch, and this is the reason why im seeking my whakapapa, because we descent from Hone Waitere, also their has been a name change from Te Papatapu reserve,to now been Te Papatapu marae, The Trustee's have not informed me about any Ulteration of anything to do with Motakotako.
I left you a personal message about your land interests & the bach ref. To see it log in as a member & go to your PM's. The Papatapu Reserve was setup as a village too for the benefit of Hone Waitere's descendants. You can ask Maori Land Ct. to trace your land interests back to the Minute Book where the korero is usually accompanied by whakapapa. I see that other whanau are having disputes with the trustees so it may be timely for you all to meet and sort a few things out. If you've got the numbers you and yours can be trustees too.
