PERENARA (Black/Ward), Elizabeth Emily: Finding Whanau
Kia Ora,

I'm trying to trace my whakapapa and am hoping someone can help. I'm trying to find more info about Elizabeth Emily Perenara. Elizabeth was born in Whakatane, but was the adopted into the Ward whanau (Thomas and Eliza Ward nee McDonald and is recorded as Elizabeth Ward on her marriage and death certs). So not sure who real parents are. Elizabeth is my great grandmother.

Elizabeth married Alexander Black, their son Joseph Black is my Grandfather.

I would like to know more about the Perenaras from Whakatane and what iwi they belong to. Hope someone can help. Please email me at nznativegirl@gmail.com or reply to this post 😊
Kia Ora,

If someone could point me in the right direction, or know of anyone who I could talk to, that would be choice.

Would like to make that connection some how, even if anyone knows more about the ward whanau or black whanau in Whakatane.
Do u have any dates ? I found a Thomas Ward as a farmer in Whakatane in 1891.
Not sure when Thomas was born. Elizabeth was born in 1886.
I have more info!!

Elizabeths mother Eliza Ward/McDonald was also known as Raiha Irihitoto (married Thomas Ward) Apparently Raihias parents are Hehiri Perenara and Kune. Now to find more info about Hehiri.
