Te Manuao Tamihana
Kia ora, Looking for information and trying to connect with the Tamihana whanau. What I have been told is my tipuna Te Manuao Tamihana came to Parihaka in 1866. Te Manuao had 3 sons - Haua, Momona and Parau. Momona and Parau lived in taranaki but I have no info on Haua. Parau married Mary Snowden Charlton they had Mary Annie, Vera Te Ata, Ivy (Nancy) Bill and Waka. Mary Annie was my grandmother she married Paora Wharerarauhe ( but his name got changed to Hari then Harris. They had William David (Toka) Harris, Kathleen Lui Preston, Nita Ritchie and Joan Seed.
Nga mihi
Debbie Tipiwai

After visiting a cousin I have gathered some more info. Te Manuao had 6 children in total - Maehe, Te Ata, Momona, Haua, Witiwai and Parau. Maehe may have been known as Reikura and was married to Ngawhare Pounamu.

Kia ora ano,

Here is another link to maybe look at https://www.famil...ealand%22~ - Although to me it does not seem that any may be relavent, but you may be able to recognise some of these names - and of course there are different ways to spell names so you never know Smile

Another option to try is different surnames - take a look in the Maori Naming Conventions section of the Whakapapa Club to get an idea!

(http://whakapapa.... is where I usually look - it is part of the Papa Panui at maori.org.nz but has alot of whakapapa resources that are not in the main Papa Panui at maori.org.nz but you use the same login.

Once again, Good luck in your search Smile
Nau te raurau,
Naku te raurau,
Ka ora ai nga tangata!
Together we will get there!
